Roto Helps Create Ocean Odyssey at Texas State Aquarium
Roto’s work on Ocean Odyssey helped the Texas State Aquarium turn a former theater into an interactive discovery center for children and families.
Roto contributed design-build services, experience design, interactive engineering and custom fabrication. These services supported the Aquarium’s goal of creating a space where young visitors can explore wildlife rescue and conservation through movement, play and hands-on learning.
A large orange octopus climbing structure anchors the experience. Designed to appear as though it is rising from the ocean floor, the feature encourages physical activity while creating a memorable focal point.
Roto also helped develop play areas and interactive elements for children of different ages. Toddler-friendly spaces, climbing activities and hands-on features allow families to explore at their own pace.
Seating and nearby amenities also support parents and caregivers, helping families remain connected to the experience.
Through its design, engineering and fabrication contributions, Roto helped the Texas State Aquarium bring Ocean Odyssey to life as a welcoming space for learning, exploration and play.
