FIT Exhibition and Experience Design Students Start Powerhouse Arts Collaboration

Graduate students in the FIT Exhibition and Experience Design (EED) program have started a new Powerhouse Arts collaboration with Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn and the design firm Entro. The semester project explores branding, wayfinding, and placemaking for the historic arts campus.
Professor Christina Lyons leads the studio. Students recently visited the site and learned about the organization’s mission. They also explored the historic facility and its future plans.
Students are working with mentors from Entro during the project. Kevin Spencer, Associate Creative Director, and Radnyee Joshi, Creative Director, are guiding the work. They are helping students develop ideas through research and storytelling. Steven Battaglia, Senior Vice President of Powerhouse Arts, and Sarah Feuquay, Operations Manager, introduced students to the organization’s mission, vision, and site, guiding them through the historic facility and aspirations for its future impact.
The Powerhouse Arts collaboration gives students real-world experience. The studio also explores how experiential design supports culture and community.
Participating students include Anna Soucy, Bhavya Ohri, Christina Walker, Jenny E., Gabriel Pechia, Grace Warnick, Iris Y., Jessica Doan, Lily L., Lydia Lee, Marina Latto, Maya Peters, Sarah R., Shreya P., and Summer Xiang.
