Fivestone Studios, Luci, and Partners Deliver Next-Generation Interactive Experiences for New Museum of Money in Dallas

Houss El Marabti and Subhi Gharbieh, Co-Founders of the new Museum of Money (MoMoney) in downtown Dallas, are on a bold mission to make financial literacy feel like an adventure. To achieve this in spectacular fashion, they set out to create a museum providing a sophisticated series of large-scale interactive exhibits that use data-led storytelling to engage and educate visitors on money’s path – from minting to blockchain.

Bringing Financial Literacy to Life

To bring their vision to life, Fivestone Studios was brought in by lead design firm Luci to develop a suite of digital interactive experiences grounded in play-based, gamified entertainment. In addition to Luci and Fivestone Studios, the project also brought together Ravenswood Studio and Electrosonic. Together, the teams created a highly immersive visitor experience. As a result, the team documented their collaboration in this case study video.

“Essentially, the MoMoney Museum was created to intelligently address Americans’ well-documented financial illiteracy,” the Co-Founders confirmed. “Since opening, these approaches to making financial topics more engaging are already paying off wonderfully.”

Interactive Museum Experiences Designed for Engagement

Under Luci’s design leadership, Fivestone helped develop concepts that elevated the visitor experience. Next, the team designed six interactive installations that transformed complex financial topics into approachable and memorable experiences. “Working very closely with Luci’s project leads, our team focused on making financial concepts feel intuitive and fun,” said Traylor Woodall, Executive Creative Director at Fivestone Studios. “We wanted visitors to feel the ideas, knowing that when people learn through experiences, the lessons stay with them.”

Real-Time Technology Powers Immersive Storytelling

Fivestone wanted visitors to experience financial concepts, not just understand them. The team created immersive and responsive installations that turned abstract ideas into interactive experiences visitors could shape in real time.

Fivestone designed and built each installation using the Unity real-time engine. The platform supported rapid iteration, cinematic-quality animation, and responsive interaction between digital and physical elements. The experience combined motion tracking cameras, projection mapping, LED displays, touch interfaces, custom overlays, photo capture systems, dynamic audio, and randomized game logic.

Each component was purpose-built for the experience. Together, they blended software, hardware, and storytelling into a cohesive environment. The installations brought complex financial ideas to life in a way that felt intuitive, engaging, and human.

Each experience translates financial concepts into a playable environment.

  • Market Shuffle: Visitors race against the clock to trade goods without using money.
  • Hoard of Gold: Multiple visitors enter a virtual world overflowing with treasure.
  • Financial Tellers: A reimagined boardwalk fortune teller delivers financial advice.
  • NYSE Photo Opportunity: A coin flip triggers an interactive photo moment inspired by the New York Stock Exchange.
  • Interest Invaders: A retro arcade game displayed on a large Nanolumens LED display challenges visitors to make smart financial decisions.
  • Design Your Own Currency: Visitors create unique AI-generated currency portraits they can save and share.

“Projects like this are a testament to what aligned collaboration can create,” Woodall added. “With Luci setting a clear vision, Ravenswood building extraordinary physical environments, and Electrosonic delivering the technical backbone, we focused on shaping intelligent, responsive systems that unify every element, turning complexity into something fluid, cohesive, and deeply engaging.”
