Yeohyun Ahn Receives Emerging Scholar Award for Immersive Healing with Creative Coding

SEGD member and 2022 SEGD Educator Award recipient Yeohyun Ahn has earned another prestigious honor: the Emerging Scholar Award 2025. Presented by the 20th International Conference on the Arts in Society at Carnegie Mellon University, the award recognizes her powerful work, Immersive Healing with Creative Coding.

This deeply personal project traces Ahn’s journey through open-heart surgery, long-term disability, and recovery—expressed through generative typography, photography, AI, and mixed reality. Her online visual presentation, developed while attending ISEA2025 in Seoul, offers a silent yet emotionally resonant narrative that connects art, technology, and healing.
