Dimensional Innovations Designs Next-Gen Fan Experiences at Intuit Dome for NBA All-Star Weekend

Dimensional Innovations (DI), a leading experience design, technology and fabrication firm is featuring its interactive elements and designs in the new Intuit Dome, which is welcoming the world with its first ever NBA All-Star Weekend this week. DI provided strategic planning, branding and various technological activations for the Clippers’ nearly 18,000-seat arena. This includes designing and powering the application behind a two-story high school jersey wall featuring iconic players and honoring the state’s rich basketball legacy.
DI also designed a unique team store with interactive displays, as well as the arena’s lighting and signage – including its distinctive roof and fascia signs along with digital pylons that sync with roof LEDs. Additionally, DI assisted the Clippers organization amid a rebrand that occurred midway through the project, reimagining locker room space and signage along the players’ tunnel to creatively reflect the changes.
“This was DI’s most comprehensive professional sports project to date,” said Justin Wood, principal and sports/higher education practice director at Dimensional Innovations. “We approached it holistically, combining a bold vision and technological distinction to create an unparalleled fan experience. The result is an iconic destination for Clippers fans and event goers alike and showing it off for the celebrity-packed All-Star weekend is the perfect unveil.”
As part of the project, DI also partnered with innovative displays company, Misapplied Sciences, to integrate the latter’s “Parallel Realities,” a revolutionary wayfinding technology. Through facial recognition, fans viewing digital screens along the arena’s main concourse receive personalized welcome messages and tailored directional information.
The Intuit Dome can seat 17,927 spectators and is designed to provide a completely new experience for fans. The arena helps give the Clippers a unique identity after sharing the L.A. Lakers’ Staples Center for decades. It is inspired by the intimacy of a college fieldhouse – bringing fans closer to the action.
Ahead of the Dome’s 2024 grand opening, DI helped design the Clippers’ 10,500-square-foot “Experience Center” featuring various interactive elements, an indoor basketball court with a “Dunk Cam,” and more.
