Portfolio reviews for students and emerging designers

Show your portfolio or work in progress projects to several established industry professionals to get insightful and constructive advice about your work. This is a great opportunity to network with our design community, and practice presenting your portfolio in a non-competitive environment.

SEGD is a multidisciplinary community and each of our community members brings a diverse set of experience and expertise. As such we welcome all students, recent graduates and mid career designers to have their portfolios reviewed, regardless of which direction you aspire your career to take.

SEGD will provide light refreshments and drinks.

Emerging Designers:

• To apply for a spot at the review please complete this application. Deadline to apply is May 22nd at 11.59PM. You will be notified by email if you’re successful.
• Bring your portfolio (if it’s digital ensure that it’s downloaded and your device is fully charged)
• Think about your goals for the event. Do you have specific questions about your portfolio? Would you like career advice about navigating the industry? Please come with specific questions and goals in mind, so that our reviewers are able to help you as best they can

Portfolio Reviewers:

• Please register for your mentor spot through this event page.

Getting to Langara:

• Transit – Langara-49th Avenue Skytrain Station is a 350m walk from Langara.
• Biking – There is a large blue bike rack located near the main entrance.
• Parking – There is paid parking on site. Langara has graciously offered free parking passes for mentors, please send us your details so we can register your vehicle.

Accessibility:

• The main entrance is flat, with no stairs or slopes. The event will take place on the ground floor a short distance from the parking lot, or main entrance on W 49th Ave.
