Submit your work by October 10 to exhibit at The Field Building on October 27.

NOTE: Entrance to DESIGN GRAVEYARD is free for everyone. This event is posted on several platforms, so you only need to RSVP in one place. RSVPs are for a general head count.

DESIGN GRAVEYARD collects the sketches, studies, prototypes, and concepts that Chicago designers abandoned, shelved, or never quite finished. Much of our work never makes it into the world. Budgets shift, clients change direction, projects stall. What’s left are relics of the process, dense with experimentation and unrealized potential.

Submissions are open through October 10

No new work required. Pull something from your files. No entry fee. You keep all rights to your work and the canvas. Details at designgraveyard.org

Opening night is October 27 at the Field Building. The exhibition stays on view through November 9, 10am to 5pm.

The exhibition is free.

Entry to the gallery is free for everyone. RSVP here so we have a headcount.

The featured lecture is ticketed separately.

Alan E. Muraoka is an Emmy-nominated production designer (Little Miss Sunshine, Ghost World, New Amsterdam). He’ll talk about how environments shape what an audience sees, feels, and understands. The talk is presented by AIGA Chicago and needs its own ticket. This RSVP does not include a seat for the talk. Tickets can be purchased on site prior to the lecture beginning.

Get lecture tickets through AIGA’s eventbrite page.

Already have a AIGA tickets? It covers the exhibition too, so you don’t need to RSVP here.
