Join SEGD and Historic Denver, Inc. in Celebrating 50 Years of Pride in Denver!

Join the SEGD Denver Chapter and Historic Denver, Inc. in celebrating 50 Years of Pride in Denver with a guided walking tour of the Capitol Hill neighborhood’s queer history!

Explore the beautiful and charming historic neighborhood of Capitol Hill and uncover the hidden Queer history of the area and the stories of those who live here. Our tour will be led by a passionate guide from The Colorado LGBTQ+ History Project at The Center on Colfax, in conjunction with Historic Denver. We will learn about some of Capitol Hill’s queer residents and visitors, historic places and their current uses and efforts to preserve the stories of underrepresented groups in the Mile High City.

On this guided walking tour you will:

  • View historic structures in a mix of architectural styles and learn about those who occupied them
  • Learn how this wealthy neighborhood became the ‘gayborhood’ it is today through deliberate zoning practices
  • Learn about the changes that have occurred in the neighborhood over the past 150 years

*The tour will start at the Molly Brown House Museum, end at Quality Hill Park, cover about 1.2 miles of walking, and last approximately 90 minutes.
