Experiential Design in the New York Region

As one of the most iconic cities in the world, NYC is renowned for its rich history, cultural landmarks, and cutting-edge design. From Manhattan’s bustling streets to Brooklyn’s artistic enclaves, New York provides endless opportunities for experiential design. Our members work on projects that enhance public spaces, cultural institutions, and urban environments across the city.

Key projects include the Chelsea High Line wayfinding system, designed by SEGD Fellow Paula Scher. This project transformed a former elevated railway into a public park, using thoughtful design to guide millions of visitors along its unique path​. Additionally, the One World Observatory delivers an immersive experience with its dynamic storytelling and breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. The whimsical Little Island park on the Hudson River also stands out, with playful wayfinding that blends art and nature.
