Alper Yurtseven, SEGD, IDSA
Alper Yurtseven, SEGD, IDSA is a senior experiential graphic designer and project manager at Mayer/Reed in Portland, Oregon. His work is focused on signage and wayfinding design for PDX Next, a major renovation and expansion of the Portland International airport spanning multiple architectural teams and construction companies. With a background in industrial design, he brings to his work both a creative and technical understanding of form giving.
“Experiential graphic design is a field where the 2D world of graphics and typography meets the 3D world of products and spatial design. I am drawn to this realm, where these disciplines merge and possibilities expand.”
His travels and experience working abroad bring a global perspective to his work. Alper is also particularly attentive to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, serving on Mayer/Reed’s DEI committee to advance the firm’s practice and staff’s personal and professional growth in DEI topics. He is an active member of DID (Diversity In Design) in Portland and serves on their Mentorship Committee developing programs to empower students and young professionals of minority backgrounds in the fields of design.
Prior to joining Mayer/Reed, Alper had over 15 years of experience at Lebowitz/Gould/Design in New York City developing signage and wayfinding projects, guidelines, standards and donor recognition programs for diverse clients including the City University of New York, Four Points by Sheraton, Hertz, NBC Sports Group, Renaissance Hotels, W Hotels, and Weill Cornell Medical College. Alper holds a Master of Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute, where he attended as a Fulbright Fellow.
