Crafted Action Led Multi-Year Collaboration at Highmark Mann

Crafted Action led a multi-year collaboration to reimagine the Highmark Mann visitor experience ahead of the Philadelphia venue’s 50th anniversary. The result invites audiences to discover music, history, and community before the first note.
Starting with an Experiential Master Plan®, Crafted Action partnered with Highmark Mann from early visioning through opening day. As lead experience designer, the firm’s role spanned experience strategy, content development, exhibit design, media development, and artifact procurement. It also helped align stakeholders, support fundraising, and coordinate implementation with the project team.
More to Explore Before the Show
Across the campus, new experiences offer unexpected connections to five decades of performances. A 4,900-square-foot LED storytelling wall presents original cultural content without advertising. Meanwhile, the reimagined Music Hall of Fame brings artifacts, interactive media, and retail into one gathering place.
Visitors can discover a Whitney Houston tour jacket, explore personal memories, or answer trivia to unlock songs performed at the Mann. A detailed LEGO campus model adds another playful way to explore.
Together, these experiences give visitors more reasons to arrive early, look closer, and return. They also connect the venue’s performance history with its educational mission and the people who have shaped it.
