Dan Paterson is a Project Manager at Eos Lightmedia, working at the intersection of creative design, technology, and the built environment. His career has taken him from technical direction and production management in theatre, opera, and multimedia events to leading complex lighting, AV, and control projects for museums, cultural and themed event spaces. Dan enjoys the messy, collaborative process of turning big creative ideas into experiences that actually work—bringing designers, artists, technologists, fabricators, contractors, and clients together to solve problems and make the vision happen. He is particularly interested in the ways lighting, media, and technology can shape how people experience and connect with a space.

What I love about experience design
Empty spaces… empty stages, galleries, plazas, parks, stadiums. Spaces where once there were and soon there will be people gathered again. Gathered to witness and experience a shared spectacle – theatre, sport, art, multimedia. I love the moments when I get to experience these spaces before the doors open and after the guests have gone home. They bring feelings of anticipation and reflection that I don’t find elsewhere in life.
Best piece of advice I've ever heard
Try to leave things better than you found them.
