CHD Earns Gold for Issoitapi Elementary School Art Program
The Issoitapi Elementary School art program has earned Gold certification in the 19th GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards. The project was recognized in the Environmental Design, Signage, Wayfinding & Murals category.
Developed by Chris Herringer Design, the program brings Blackfoot culture and stories into the K–5 school environment. It features commissioned work by six Blackfoot artists, along with reproduced murals preserved from the former Aahsaopi Elementary School.
Together, the artworks explore Blackfoot land, language, values, history, ceremony, and resilience. The program creates a strong sense of identity, belonging, and pride for students and the wider Kainai community.
