Lost & Found Celebrates CSLA Award of Excellence for Wheaton Walk Through Time

Lost & Found is celebrating national recognition for Wheaton Walk Through Time, which received a CSLA Award of Excellence in Communication from the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.

Wheaton Walk Through Time was developed with PWL Partnership and gökotta studio + lab. The outdoor exhibition is located on the University of British Columbia campus. It invites visitors to move through 4.5 billion years of Earth’s history. Along the way, it connects two UBC destinations: the Pacific Museum of the Earth and the Beaty Biodiversity Museum.

The installation uses more than 100 metres of corten and stainless steel. It shares key moments in the formation of the planet and the evolution of life. In addition, engraved timelines, graphics, and interpretive content turn a campus pathway into a place for learning, reflection, and discovery.

Lost & Found led the exhibition content development, graphic design, and illustration for the project. Their work helped translate complex scientific ideas into an accessible experience for students, researchers, museum visitors, and the public.

The award highlights the value of collaboration across design, science, education, and fabrication. As a result, the project shows how public spaces can spark curiosity, support learning, and create meaningful connections between people and place.
