Solid Light’s strategic succession marks a new chapter for the Louisville-based design, planning, and fabrication firm. Solid Light, Inc. has completed its ownership transition. As a result, an internal partnership group now fully owns and leads the firm.

Founder Cynthia Torp has sold her remaining shares to the internal ownership team. The move completes a planned transition for the nationally recognized firm, which specializes in immersive visitor experiences.

“The ultimate goal of any founder is to build an institution that is stronger than any one individual,” said Cynthia Torp. “Because our firm is currently in its strongest position to date, the time is right to fully step away. I do so with absolute peace of mind, knowing that the company is not just stable, but thriving. This group of leaders have been driving our daily success for years; today, the ownership simply matches that reality.”

The new ownership group includes Chris Mozier, President; Jackson King, Director of Project Management; Mike Marnell, Director of Fabrication; Ben Jett, Creative Team Director; Emily Trujillo, Director of Market Development; Casey Krueger, Fabrication Manager; Sarah Drees, Director of Strategic Partnerships; and David Metcalf, Lane Lead.

Together, the group represents Solid Light’s work across design, media, production, and business operations. In addition, the internal transition helps the firm remain independent and locally stewarded.

Torp announced her retirement earlier this spring. However, she will continue to support the firm as Board Chair, offering leadership, guidance, and expertise.

“We are honored to lead Solid Light into its next chapter,” said Chris Mozier. “Our team is in total lockstep regarding our values and our dedication to our clients. This transition was born out of a shared vision to ensure that our unique approach to experience design and immersive exhibits continues to set the standard for the industry for decades to come.”

Since 1999, Solid Light has created visitor experiences for museums, cultural institutions, tourism destinations, corporate environments, and public spaces. The firm brings together design, media, and fabrication in its 55,000-square-foot facility in Louisville, Kentucky.

Its past projects include the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience, the American Civil War Museum, Falls of the Ohio, Discovery Park of America, the Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
