In his book “The New Designer,” Manuel Lima makes the case that design helped get us into our current mess, and that design can get us out.

Manuel Lima joins SEGD Chicago at the Chicago Architecture Center on June 24. He’ll ask what designers miss when we spend our careers on small pieces of systems we never see finished, what changes when we start thinking big again, and whether universal design principles still hold in a moment working hard to divide us.
