Lorie, with 36 years in the cultural sector, is a distinguished expert in co-creating visitor experience platforms that promote inquiry, curiosity, empathy, and action. She is an educator, naturalist, and a designer of free-choice learning environments. She uses these skills to assist in the development of strategic and tactical plans for cultural organizations. Her leadership in the Design-Build process has been pivotal for several large museums, and she provides expertise to support organizations of all sizes. Recognized as an industry leader, Lorie is a recipient of awards for innovation and a key figure in advancing equity and justice within the field. In 2023, she was among 100 professionals advising the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services on the future of American museums. Her published works address shared governance, free-choice learning, inclusive design, organizational sustainability, and animal welfare. Lorie serves as the Immediate Past President of the Western Museums Association, Past President of the Utah Museums Association, and is an Executive Committee member of the Sema Hadithi African American Culture and History Foundation.
