Mayer/Reed Lights Up Portland’s Smallest Park with Creative Placemaking
Mayer/Reed brought light and energy to Portland’s smallest park with a solar-powered art installation. In partnership with the Portland Bureau of Transportation and the Portland Winter Light Festival, the firm reimagined Mill Ends Park. The display features color-changing LEDs that glow in a triangular prism, drawing people in.
The playful design invites passersby to stop and connect with the space. It shows how even the smallest public places can spark joy and engagement. The project continues Mayer/Reed’s focus on people-centered design and creative placemaking.
