Shawn Harrington

I am a Principal at Asterisk in Austin where I lead brand and business development.

My career spans over thirty years as a designer, business leader, creative director and teaching professional. I co-founded Asterisk in 1999 after holding Designer and Art Director positions at Tocquigny Advertising + Design, HIXO, and SicolaMartin, all in Austin, as well as ImageMatrix, Dallas. I have collaborated with not-for-profit organizations, Fortune 500 companies including Dell, Motorola, AMD, NEC, IBM, PepsiCo, and Cisco, and for clients in education, aerospace, retail, healthcare, public relations, real estate, and technology.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design from the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas and have lectured on communication design at Texas State University. I am an active member of the design community (SEGD, AIGA, ULI, AIA) and serve on the Advisory Board for AIGA Austin.
