Fred brings creative problem solving and global experience to help his clients connect with their customers, and to help their customers connect with their destinations. Signage and wayfinding are the pillars of his expertise: through his projects he is able to create interfaces between people and places and build positive customer experiences.
He has a wealth of experience working as part of large multi-disciplinary groups, and always strive to build close working relationships with the both the design and the client teams, as this is essential to the success of his projects.
Fred managed the delivery of a range of products to support the strategic advice he provides to clients, from maps to digital and traditional wayfinding systems on a scale ranging from individual buildings to entire cities. In these projects he had first-hand responsibility for for the full project cycle – from stakeholder management and consultation, to strategy and design, to supporting the procurement process and directing the installation programme.
He has a long track record of successful delivery of wayfinding and signage systems in highly complex environments across the world: his projects include large sporting events (such as the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turing and the 2012 London Olympics, as well as a number of stadia around the world), schemes for airports (Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, Viracopos in Brasil and Catania in Italy), guidelines for railway systems (Network Rail in the United Kingdom, Haramein High Speed Rail in Saudi Arabia, Rome Metro in Italy and Transport for London) and for urban transport systems (Transport for London, Rome buses in Italy, Dundee and Brighton in the United Kingdom.
His list of clients include many world-class architectural firms, including Foster + Partners, Maki and Associates, Weston Williamson and Partners, Shigeru Ban, Ines Lobo, as well as a number of local, regional and national authorities and transport operators.
