At long last! Nearly 5 years after ArtHouse Design first announced its partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital, the Denver-based design agency completed its immersive experiential graphic design (EGD) program for the 11-story, 575,000-square-foot Hale Family Clinical Building at Boston Children’s Hospital. Over the course of the project, a lot changed. Current events and issues, including COVID and the pandemic, remote work, and DEI have far-reaching implications beyond politics and business. The designers at ArtHouse Design gave careful consideration to these and other topics in their locally inspired yet internationally focused designs for Boston Children’s.

“Working in health care is profoundly rewarding,” said ArtHouse Principal and Design Director Beth Rosa. “An increasing number of studies show that incorporating art into health care environments can have beneficial effects on patient recovery, and our designs offer unexpected moments of calm and wonderment during what can be an otherwise stressful time.”

This project has been recognized with several design awards, including the Environmental Category for the 2023 Communications Arts Interactive Annual and the 2022 International Design Awards, Silver for Print-Wayfinding & Environmental Graphics
