ZEBRADOG (Madison, Wisc.) recently won a 2013 Award of Excellence from the Digital Screenmedia Association for its interactive media exhibit for Saudi Aramco’s North American headquarters.

The 2013 DSA Industry Excellence Awards recognize the best in digital signage, mobile, self-service, and interactive kiosk technology projects. 

ZEBRADOG created the content and produced the project in collaboration with Canadian-based Float4 Interactive. The installation gives visitors a dynamic and easy-to-navigate interface for exploring the oil company’s story and its global reach. It uses cutting-edge interactive technologies such as real-time rendered graphics within an HTML5 interface based on user response, says Chris Moore, ZEBRADOG’s Digital Media Director. “We’re harnessing the next generation of web-based graphics delivery technology to deliver an amazing and exploratory interactive experience.”

The installation features a MicroTile display from Christie Digital. An array of sensors (motion detection, infrared-camera tracking, laser scanning, QR coding, and more) supports an unprecedented number of audio and visual effects. “One of the most exciting features we’ve created is the ability for Saudi Aramco to add and edit content real-time from anywhere in the world,” says Moore. “We’ve negated the need for ongoing programming. Anyone in the company, technically savvy or not, can edit and change the entire interface at will.”

ZEBRADOG also developed an extension of the experience for Saudi Aramco’s tradeshow environments, MS Surface tables, and desktop ad mobile platforms.
