Younts Design Brings Back the Charm at Wrigley Field

Younts design for Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field (Chicago), built in 1914, is the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. A multi-year restoration will bring back the charm the ballpark had in what’s considered its “Golden Age,” the 1930s.

Beginning with the Wrigley Field Budweiser Bleachers, Younts Design (Baltimore, Md.) created pageantry, wayfinding, concessions and sponsorship signage. Highlights include a replica of the outfield ivy wall for photo ops and historic Otis Shepard hand-painted graphics. Younts Design worked with Susan Perrin Art Consulting on five custom display cases filled with Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field history. Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame illustrations by Gary Cieradkowski were paired with the exact wording on their plaques in Cooperstown. Using the Chicago Cubs’ great archive, Younts Design was able to bring some history into a new section of the ballpark.
