The SEGD Global Design Awardsprovide an exclusive opportunity for you to showcase your work and compete against the best designers in the world for recognition, credibility and exposure. But don’t take our word for it.
We asked some of the world’s leading experiential graphic design firms: Why do you enter your work in the SEGD Global Design Awards? Here’s what they had to say about why they participate in the awards program year after year:
Not only is it wonderful for our design team to be recognized for their incredible work, it is also rewarding to be an inspiration to the industry for producing exciting and innovative projects that push the envelope, while exciting and educating our audiences.
As an SEGD Global Design Awards recipient, the real value lies in our firm being recognized for representing excellence in the field of experience and digital media design.
—Patrick Gallagher, FSEGD, President & Founder, Gallagher & Associates (Silver Spring, Md.)
We look to award-winning projects for inspiration to keep design aspirations high within our studio and with our clients. We are honored that we have been recognized in the past, and the SEGD Global Design Awards continue to motivate us to seek design excellence in our work.
—Kathy Fry, Principal, Mayer/Reed, Inc. (Portland); SEGD Board Member
Our long association with SEGD and the global network it represents is incredibly important to us all at Holmes Wood. We feel that if we win an SEGD award we have probably designed a pretty good creative response.
—Lucy Holmes, Global Director, & Alexandra Wood, Global Director, Holmes Wood (London)
The SEGD Global Design Awards' online showcase is a fantastic repository of work and a real go-to spot for inspiration. We’ve had many creatives (architects, landscape architects, other clients) mention that they saw our work on SEGD.org.
—Kristine Matthews, Principal, Studio Matthews (Seattle)
I enter our work primarily because I consider the SEGD Global Design Awards as the most prestigious awards program in our specific industry. Winning an SEGD award gives tremendous credibility to our work and exposes us to a wide global audience.
—Carlo Giannasca, Partner/Head, Urbanite (Sydney, Australia)
To get a recognition at international market, to share experience with professionals of the design field, to get a feedback from the best professionals of the design field, to gain an inspiration for upcoming projects.
—Inguna Elere, CDO/Creative Lead, & Holgers Elers, CEO/Creative Lead, H2E Design (Riga, Latvia)
We enter work in the SEGD Global Design Awards because....
- It is the major enviro/signage globally-recognized awards.
- It offers industry-wide recognition on an international stage.
- The SEGD awards are the equivalent of the Oscars for the signage world.
—Paul Taboure, ECD & Founder, THERE (Sydney)
Global recognition and pride!
—Hannah Olin, LEED Green Associate, Gensler; SEGD DC Chapter Co-Chair (Washington)
And for the students…
I think SEGD offers a fantastic opportunity for recognition of student work. The awards are high caliber but, most importantly, the free entry for student members means that this isn’t a “buy yourself an award” situation.
Also, the fact that SEGD clearly values the student winners by inviting them to the conference—even funding them to come—makes it a fantastic development opportunity too. The students and grads we have taken have really felt the value of the community and the inspiration of the conference. The buzz of recognition makes it a truly memorable experience, and they all consider it a highlight of their university experience.
—Jo Bailey, Lecturer, School of Design, Massey University College of Creative Arts (Wellington, New Zealand)
