Law's Engraving was established in 1946, in the back room of a downtown Miami barber shop, by Earl Law.
In the beginning, most of their work was technical engraving on instrument panels used in the marine and aircraft industry. Law's Architectural Signs actually made the fuel dipsticks for Pan American Airways' "Flying Boats" that took off and landed in the waters near Dinner Key Marina, in Coconut Grove.
Law's Architectural Signs began to manufacture other items, which included signs, and by the early 70's our concentration was on signage for hospitals, hotels and office buildings. In the early 80's we began working on projects for the cruise ship industry and have expanded into a full service architectural signage company.
Throughout the years Law's Architectural Signs have mastered new technologies with the use of computer driven routers, lasers, printers and plotters. Law's Architectural Signs highly skilled craftsmen have perfected many other processes such as woodworking, clear coating and hand fabrication. Law's Architectural Signs continue to look for new ways to advance our manufacturing capabilities.
Valerie Chapman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Professional Technical, Scientific and Business Writing from the Florida International University.
