Charlotte SEGD Community - Please join us for a two part event on April 4th and 5th!

Part One: Tuesday, April 4th at 12 PM (Online) A virtual discussion with the artist, Simon Donovan as he shares the process and story behind the installation ‘The Tribute’ at the American Legion Memorial Stadium. Simon Donovan, along with his partner, Ben Olmstead, created an interactive, double-sided relief/transparent wall, utilizing a technique of undulating laser-cut vertical slices that are held apart to create an interactive perception of forms. It reads from fully realized representations to near invisibility. On one side depictions of five branches of the military, on the other - a close-up of a waving American flag. Join us to learn more about this beautiful installation and the stories behind it!

Part Two: Wednesday, April 5th at 12 PM (Project Tour) As a follow up to the presentation on Tuesday, we will be meeting on site at American Legion Memorial Stadium to see the installation in-person. We will tour the site, then gather as a group for lunch at a near by restaurant to catch up with other members.
