Traxon Technologies (East Rutherford, N.J.) recently produced a project called “Anyone Who Has A Heart,” a modern lighting sculpture located at the main entrance of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Artists Andrew Small and Steve Almond created this interactive art piece consisting of four rings of light backlit by Traxon’s LEDs, set in a large heart-like sculpture. Motion sensors initiate different illuminated colors and sequences when visitors walk around the installation. Adding a little more love, the sculpture can monitor and display peoples’ heartbeats with a pulsating red light when visitors hold its steel hand grips.
