Tolga Tekin is a graduate student in the Exhibition and Experience Design Master's Degree program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. He has his BFA in Industrial Design from the Marmara University in Turkey. Tolga also studied Interior Decoration and Yacht Design at the University of Genova in Italy as a European exchange student. When he was in Italy, Tolga traveled all around Europe, Sicilia through Scandinavia, and this experience gave him new perspective and helped him to increase his creativity.
During his senior year of college, Tolga Tekin won the LG Electronics Conteptualife 2011 Contest with his ecological kitchen design. After the contest, He had an internship at LG Electronic in Seoul, South Korea. The internship provided him with a lot of experience in household product design. Upon graduating from college, Tolga worked for X-Architects in Dubai, U.A.E, which helped him gain experience in furniture and showcase design while working on the Zayed II Military School Museum.
Tolga Tekin starts design process by asking him self how his design will make the customers happy, for him this is same as a doctor treats the patient and makes them happy. As a designer, he makes people happy with his design. Tolga believes that this approach makes his design unique.
