We create captivating experiences for visitors to natural, cultural, and civic sites through interpretive planning and design.
Therese specializes in interpretive exhibits, graphic design, and signage. For the past 30 years, she has had the opportunity to work for and to collaborate with clients. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Graphic Design in 1978, Therese began her career with a EU Grant to work for the Irish Government Agency, Kilkenny Design Workshops. Her work there promoted Irish products through branding, retail, and displays. Since then, Therese has focused on combining skills in graphic design, signage, and three-dimensional displays and exhibits to build meaningful and educational experiences for visitors—with the goal to inspire wonder, educate and entertain.
Therese established Signature Design in 1993 as a collaborative firm specializing in interpretive design, wayfinding, and signage for visitor centers, museums, historic sites, state and national parks, municipalities, civic authorities, and botanical gardens. Therese’s responsibilities include conceptual design, strategic team building, and project management for branding, signage, interpretive exhibits and environmental design projects. Her goal is to convey the authentic story of these ecological and manmade environments in a meaningful, respectful, and memorable way.
Signature Design continues to grow. Building on our reputation of working with exhibits, museum outdoors, public art programs, and visitors centers, Therese is setting her sights on contracts with city and state governments, civic institutions and authorities, national parks, and more to create innovative interpretive experiences. The Signature Design team is nimble and adaptable—and always growing. To connect with Therese, please visit thesignaturedesign.com.
