Exhibitionism—The Rolling Stones Exhibition

Honor Award 2017
Exhibitionism - The Rolling Stones Exhibition

For over five decades, the Rolling Stones have continually reinvented themselves as musicians, performers and cultural icons, transforming music, art, fashion and popular culture in the process. This incredible legacy is explored in “Exhibitionism: The Rolling Stones,” a major exhibition opened at New York’s Industria Superstudio after a blockbuster run in London. The designers collaborated on the exhibition with producers Tony Cochrane and Thea Jeanes-Cochrane of iEC and curator Ileen Gallagher.

Pentagram (New York), working with the Aldo Group, has created a pop-up shop for the launch of Truth or Dare, the new shoe collection from music superstar Madonna. Installed at Selfridges London, the store design captures the line’s unique mix of pop and luxury in a stage-like display that features shoes in gilded cages. “Cages keep beautiful things in and dangerous things contained,” says Daniel Weil of Pentagram, who created the shop.
