Sara Thompson is an experiential graphic designer who is passionate about people. From designing environments for some of the largest brands in the world to transforming small local businesses through a grassroots mural initiative, Sara seeks to understand how her work can impact the lives of others and bring people together.
Matthew Winter, RA, LEED AP, is a Studio Leader and Senior Associate at Rockwell Group, bringing more than 15 years of award-winning hospitality experience to the firm. Matthew’s recent and current projects include the pro bono initiative DineOut NYC, Warner Music Group HQ in the landmark Ford Factory in Los Angeles, Cedric’s at The Shed in New York, and the future Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Prior to joining Rockwell Group in 2016, he worked as the Studio Director at Roman and Williams, leading the design for hotels, restaurants, and residences. Matthew received his B.A.
Long before turning his attention to architecture, David Rockwell, FAIA, harbored a fascination with immersive environments. Growing up in the United States and Guadalajara, Mexico, David was a child of the theater, and was often cast in community repertory productions by his mother, a vaudeville dancer and choreographer. He has brought his passion for theater and artistic eye for the color and spectacle of Mexico to his practice.
Diane Hang Nguyen, is a Director at Rockwell Group. Since joining the firm in 2018, Diane has brought her extensive experience in hospitality design for projects with GM, CBRE, McClain Camarota Hospitality, Hilton and Marriott International. Past and current work includes the luxury Raffles Residences of Back Bay in Boston; Miami Dolphins’ Baptist Health Training Complex in Miami Gardens; Rockwell Group’s pro bono initiative DineOut NYC; and the Highland, a restaurant and event space in Detroit. Prior to joining Rockwell Group, Diane was Senior Interior Designer at Tihany Design.
Katie Gillespie is an Interior Designer at Rockwell Group. With hospitality design experience across the US and Asia, Katie brings a passion for innovative materiality and conceptual development to the firm. Katie’s recent and upcoming projects include Rockwell Group’s pro bono initiative DineOut NYC, the FUTURES Exhibition at the Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building, and Murray’s Cheese Bar and Retail Shop in New York City’s Long Island City.
