Anthony Russell is President of Russell Design in New York.

As president, Anthony Russell functions as creative director and client liaison on key projects, particularly those involving strategy and branding. A native of London, he left the UK early after art school and mandatory service in the British Army (not fun) to start his New York design firm. A keen interest in architecture spawned an environmental graphics team that designs streetscapes, parks, hospitals, hotels and corporate and residential buildings.

Russell Design - The Yards Park

Russell Design (New York), working with M. Paul Friedberg Partners, designed an interpretive signage program for The Yards Park on the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C.  The program describes the buildings, facilities, and workplaces that previously occupied the area adjacent to the Washington Navy Yard. Yards Park is an amenity of the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood and is the centerpiece of Forest City, the urban, mixed-use development project known as The Yards.

Russell Design (New York) completed design for three different projects associated with the revival of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and BLDG 92, its new exhibit and community center.

The firm created a catalog of BLDG 92’s opening exhibits, a kiosk application presenting the green attributes of the new building, and a second kiosk with a genealogical tool allowing visitors to explore, and add to, a database of Navy Yard employees and business, past and present.
