Improving the Passenger Experience, DFW Style

As Project Manager in the Planning Department at DFW International Airport, Richard Gurley coordinates wayfinding and signage for the entire 17,000-acre airport complex, including five terminals, garages, and airport roadways. DFW will host the 2014 SEGD/ASMN Airport & Transportation Workshop Sept. 25-26, and Gurley will share the airport’s $2 billion Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program, its new signage program, and improving the customer experience, DFW style.

Richard has 14 years of experience in the DFW Airport Planning Department, with a focus on airport signage, traffic signals, and special projects.  He is currently involved in DFW’s $2B Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program (TRIP) which is replacing all interior signage for four (4) terminals and a new 7700 car parking garage. To address the needs of TRIP, Richard has created an airport-wide Wayfinding Master Plan and Signage Standards Manual.
