The Avenue at White Marsh

The Avenue at White Marsh, outside of Baltimore, is a 35-acre shopping, dining and entertainment center that opened in 1998 to serve as a town center for surrounding residents. To bring this center up to date and increase foot traffic, a cross-disciplinary team of architects, landscape architects, client management, leasing and design teams, worked together to re-establish the complex’s “main street” as a vibrant retail and entertainment destination.

Rose Bond, celebrated Portland-based media artist, has again collaborated with the Oregon Symphony; this time creating a visually augmented live performance of Luciano Berio’s ‘Sinfonia.’ The live performance of the symphony -dubbed “the ultimate pre-postmodernist musical palimpsest”- is accompanied by massive projections that give the audience a unique audio-visual experience that captures 1968 as a pivotal time of cultural change.

The Great Plains Recreation Facility is a new civic anchor on the east edge of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The project elevates the architectural expression in the area and sets an example for subsequent developments. The project’s bold use of color creates a warm and welcoming center point for the developing area and creates a landmark quality center for ‘sport’ and ‘community.’

An unexpected trek at warp speed: re-envisioning the client’s journey into the future.

Rethinking an existing space and transforming it into an experience that embodies Intel’s Mega Lab, this connection area has a strong concept and environmental graphic implementation that enhances the user experience. Transparency, voids and dynamic, high-contrast graphics generate a futuristic journey that links the once-isolated Megalab. Revealing itself as the user navigates it, the space constantly offers a flexible journey of discovery into Intel’s most innovative lab.

Downtown Denise Scott Brown at the Architekturzentrum Wien is the first major exhibition dedicated to Denise Scott Brown -- iconic architect, urban planner, teacher, and writer.  With partner and husband Robert Venturi, Denise has guided designers and thinkers since the 1960s yet remains obscured and misunderstood.

Touted as the City of Austin’s new “living room”, the new Central Library is equal parts library and community center. The Escher-like effect of the multi-level atrium, with its crisscrossing stairs and bridges, gives the facility a cohesive feel both laterally and vertically while providing an abundance of natural light.

'What Counts'

Who We Are: Visualizing NYC By the Numbers is a new exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York that explores and highlights the importance of the upcoming 2020 Census. The exhibition focuses on the historical legacy of census taking and features contemporary artistic responses to concepts of counting, government appropriation, and individual versus collective identity.

In the highly competitive world of commercial real estate, JLL understood the importance of personalizing its space to engage its local workforce and create an emotional connection to the JLL brand through the physical space.
