Happy New Year and welcome to 2021! We made it! SEGD continues to adapt to this unprecedented time that we are all living through, ensuring we stay connected even when we are apart. We have many things to look forward to this year.
I am honored to succeed Bryan Meszaros as President of SEGD and look forward to building on his extensive accomplishments. His dedicated leadership helped the SEGD Board and staff grow our global community to a record-breaking 42 national and international Chapters.
As the decade comes to an end so does my time as President. Over the past 10 years SEGD has seen unparalleled growth through the leadership of numerous dedicated and passionate individuals. I am honored to have had the opportunity to play a small role in the success of our organization.
It’s currently 35 degrees out in New Jersey and my usual pumpkin beer has now become a winter lager. That can only mean one thing… The holidays are upon us and it’s time to reflect and plan ahead.
I feel extremely honored to be following in the footsteps of John Lutz who, through his inspirational leadership helped the SEGD Board and staff grow our global community to a record-breaking 2,139 members with an emphasis on student membership.
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and New Year and that you are getting back into the swing of things! 2016 was another fantastic year for our organization.
I’m looking forward to continuing with the vision and initiatives that were put in place by Jill Ayers, our incredibly talented past president, including growing our organization to an all-time high of 1,795 members in 2015 and growing our student membership by 22%!
I can’t believe two years have flown by. I write this note as I exit my presidency and welcome in 2016. I am incredibly grateful for this experience and for all of the amazing people I was able to meet and collaborate with. Through the generous support of our sponsors, partners and members, SEGD continues to be the authority for the world of Experiential Graphic Design.
