Rebecca Dropkin

Rebecca Dropkin is a Graphic Designer with Populous Activate. She specialises in branding but over the years her work has also taken the form of typography, photography and illustration. She is fascinated with exploring why people make decisions and react to stimuli in certain ways and how design can be used to influence these behaviours. As a creative problem solver, she believes that the most impactful way of communicating a message to the viewer is to take a concept-lead approach in responding to a brief, leaving a lasting impression on the individual.

Insung Kim

Insung Kim is a Senior Graphic Designer at Populous who holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. His responsibilities primarily include developing graphics, environmental and wayfinding design for sport and convention center projects, from a conceptual phase through construction documentation.

2016 SEGD Global Design Awards: Creative Experiential Designs that Communicate

WASHINGTON, DC – In a world that is increasingly complex visually, designers are experimenting with ways to enhance users’ enjoyment of the “real” world with creative experiential designs that communicate. World Architecture Festival Exhibition London

The inaugural World Architecture Festival (WAF) London event was held at the Ambika P3 space at Westminster University in June 2015.

The client’s brief was to design and establish a branded environment and event design that would serve as a satellite event to the main WAF Festival in Singapore. This new event was a chance to showcase all of the entries for this year’s WAF Awards in a new city, with 375 projects displayed in total.

The new 59,186-capacity Parc Olympique Lyonnais is designed to represent the aspirations of the eponymous local football club, and also of Lyon itself. Populous Activate was commissioned to design the wayfinding strategy and signage for the stadium and surrounding car parks.

The goal of the wayfinding and signage program was to give people the freedom to navigate the stadium easily while they enjoy the events there. This included directing nearly 60,000 people to their seats from multiple points of arrival, as well as sending them out the right way after events.
