A New Year & A New Chapter

Hello and welcome!

We started a new Phoenix chapter late last year, and we are excited to get things rolling.  As the only SEGD chapter in Arizona, we hope to unite our design community statewide and to create fun events where we can get to know one another, share experiences, insights and creative ideas.

Students, designers (young and wise) and industry partners, join our forces!

Our first event will be a casual get-together over drinks and snacks in March.  We LOVE our spring!

Amanda Harper

Amanda Harper hails from an advertising background and has been with Gould Evans for almost 10 years.  In her second year at Gould Evans, she along with a co-worker, dreamed up Canary: a boutique multidisciplinary graphics, branding and interiors practice within Gould Evans. Since 2008, Amanda has been a vital part of the inception and evolution of Canary, growing it from a staff of two to a staff of 14.

Paul Howell

Paul Howell learned everything he knows about graphic design in the Navy. Not really, but it’s fun to point out that he printed his first design at the age of 15, working as an intern in the design studio of the U.S. Navy’s Department of Morale, Welfare and Recreation on the U.S. Naval Air Station Roosevelt Roads in Ceiba, Puerto Rico.

He’s come a long way since then, earning a BFA with honors from Arizona State University’s graphic design program and working at some of the Southwest’s most respected firms.
