Designtex (New York) recently announce that Casper™ Cloaking Technology has been honored as a finalist in the Workplace category in Fast Company’s 2018 Innovation By Design Awards, which celebrates innovative design in business. This year, the contest received over 2,800 submissions across 16 categories. Designtex was honored amongst many other big names such as Google, Nike and Stanford University.

Daktronics Installs Nation’s Largest High School Video Display in Texas

McKinney ISD Stadium and Community Event Center recently partnered with Daktronics (Brookings, S.D.), to manufacture and install the largest high school video display in the country. The north end zone video display measures 54-feet-wide by 32-feet-tall and features Daktronics patented 13HD pixel layout. For comparison, the display stands seven feet taller than McKinney North High School and, if set on its side, is just five feet shy of McKinney's five-story hospitals.

On October 4, 2018, the new Tennessee State Museum opened in Nashville, Tennessee. This 137,000-square-foot museum tells the complex history of Tennessee, ranging from the natural history of the region to cultural history, art and even a separate children’s gallery.

Matthews Paint and MeasureColor recently introduced a convenient color-scanning tool for the sign industry. The portable color scanner, weighing about an ounce, easily fits in the palm of the hand and paired with a smartphone or tablet, the device makes scanning color in the field easy. The small Bluetooth® enabled scanning device accurately captures surface color using Delta E calculations and L*a*b* color values, then syncs with the app installed on a smartphone or tablet to find the closest Matthews Paint color match and formula.

Winton, Australia lies 1,356km north-west of Brisbane, surrounded by Matilda country. According to the Australian Traveller it is the dinosaur capital of Australia; paleontologists from around the world flock to the harsh and unforgiving outback to discover dinosaur bones.

Winton is also the birth place of the famous Australian bush ballad, “Waltzing Matilda.” Banjo Paterson wrote the lyrics to the legendary song nearby at Dagworth Station in 1895. It was first performed at Winton’s North Gregory Hotel the same year.

In July, Udo Schliemann, principal creative director at Entro (Toronto) completed work on an art installation commissioned by Oxford Properties Group for their WaterPark Place building to honor Canada Day 2018. Schliemann's representation of the Canadian Flag uses the existing wooden louvers high up in the east lobby of Waterpark Place and the two-story void underneath.
