Nestled on California’s central coast, Cal Poly’s new residential community for 1,475 first-year university students consists of seven three- to five-story residence hall buildings, and an adjacent four-level parking structure. The new complex connects students both to each other and to the adjacent residential community. A deep connection to place comes from a partnership with the local Northern Chumash tribe, yak titʸu titʸu yak tiłhini, to provide direction for creating unique experiential graphics for each of the residence halls.

YouTube approached the design team, requesting a cohesive lobby experience that would unify the space with their brand. For employees, this area was thought of as a sort of Grand Central Station, a hub that everyone passes through multiple times a day. For visitors, the lobby would likely be the only part of the company that they would be granted access to—and the experience had been perceived by many as anticlimactic.

The city symphony was desperate to revitalize an aging subscriber base with performance events that would engage a younger audience. The artistic director had heard of a concert that combined “animated video” performed with live orchestra and on the advice of the Development Director, contacted Rose Bond Moving Pictures.

WDCH Dreams

Refik Anadol Studio was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic as part of their centennial celebration. The goal was to create a project that would engage the city and its inhabitants.To make the exterior of Walt Disney Concert Hall “dream,” Anadol utilized a creative, computerized “mind” to mimic how humans dream—by processing memories to form a new combination of images and ideas.

Nicollet

Nicollet Avenue is the “Main Street” of downtown Minneapolis; it's a cultural and commercial center and shopping and dining district that attracts people to work, shop and eat all year. The thoroughfare recently reopened after undergoing a major renovation to make it more pedestrian friendly. As part of the revitalization, Pentagram designed a brand identity and comprehensive program of signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics for Nicollet that capture the spirit of the street and its place in the city.

Scholastic

Scholastic is the world’s largest educational publisher and distributor of children's books, home to favorites like Harry Potter, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Captain Underpants. Pentagram created environmental graphics for the publisher’s corporate headquarters in New York City that reimagine the iconic characters in a series of large-scale artworks and installations.

Domino Park

Domino Park

Domino Park is a new five-acre park in Brooklyn, on the site of the former Domino Sugar refinery. The park, developed by Two Trees and designed by James Corner Field Operations, restores access to the waterfront, and features a new Danny Meyer taco stand, a volleyball court, dog run and playground.
