Keith Davis

My mission is to understand the needs and wants of creative professionals and to partner with them in developing their visions into tangible products. It is my task to establish and clearly define design intent through the creation of comprehensive design documentation drawings and preserve its integrity through implementation.

My job is to be the "go-to" resource for taking your creative concepts through completion on the most complicated projects.

Ventspils Museum Exhibition

Merit Award 2014
Ventspils Museum Exhibition

The Ventspils Museum permanent exhibition is located in the 13th century Castle of the Livonian Order of Knights, one of the oldest castles in Latvia. Design Studio H2E took this special context into consideration in creating the exhibition. The team’s design concept is based on the shards of history that have impacted the castle and the port city over the course of centuries. The team translated the concept of shards visually through asymmetrical, polygonal shapes that form furniture, display cases, interactive stations, and other elements throughout the exhibition.

Seattle Children's Research Institute

Seattle Children's Research Institute Neighborhood Visibility

At Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI), hundreds of world-class scientists and researchers are investigating new treatments and seeking cures for childhood diseases. Yet the public is mostly unaware of their presence in downtown Seattle. For years, SCRI has tried to increase the visibility of their building's storefront, which spans more than half a block. SCRI has employed traditional solutions such as posters and window graphics, but despite these attempts, the streetscape remained dark and lifeless. A different approach was needed.

Boy Scouts Sustainability Treehouse

Boy Scouts Sustainability Treehouse

A Scout’s Treehouse

How do you make an exhibit on sustainability as much fun as zip-lining? At the Boy Scouts adventure camp in West Virginia, a new five-story treehouse makes conservation cool.

When the Boy Scouts of America decided to build a five-story treehouse at its new 10,000+ acre high-adventure camp in West Virginia, the goal was to create a living model reaffirming its conservation heritage.

City of Bath Information System

Honor Award 2014
City of Bath Information System

The city of Bath is historically in awe of its own heritage. The World Heritage Site is perhaps best known for its Roman hot-spring baths and its distinctive Palladian architecture. Its modern-day residents take their city’s cultural heritage very seriously, and any new features added to Bath’s streets are often viewed by those who live there as a form of cultural vandalism.

What are Materials, Color and Finishing?

Environmental graphic design and experiential graphic design are visual communications manifested in the physical, material world. Naturally, then, materials are the DNA of the environments and experiences that result. Materiality establishes the tone and nature of their visual vocabulary.

Materials are to environmental and experiential graphic designers as paints or pastels are to fine artists. Designers and fabricators practicing EGD and XGD have a world of options at their fingertips, and understanding them is a key competency of the discipline.

Battery Point Sculpture Trail

By the Numbers

Futago designs interpretive sculptures to mark an historic waterfront trail.

If you zoom in on a map of Tasmania, the island state 240 kilometers south of Australia, and find its capital city of Hobart, you can just about make out the blunt promontory south of town.

Named after the battery of guns established there in 1818 to defend the coast, Battery Point shelters Hobart’s deep-water port to the north and looks south toward Storm Bay and beyond, to the route popular with Antarctic expeditions.
