This summer I returned back to my alma mater to team teach Design Systems, a junior-level experiential graphic design course. We guide students to research social issues within local communities to co-create wayfinding systems and strategic placemaking design.

MIAMI — During the 2017 SEGD Conference Experience Miami, winners of the 2017 SEGD Achievement Awards were announced and celebrated among the largest annual gathering of members of the experiential graphic design community. Since 1987, has honored the individuals, companies, and institutions whose work has significantly advanced the environmental and experiential graphic design fields. The 2017 honorees and awards are as follows.

Joell Angel-Chumbley received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the School of Art at the University of Cincinnati, Magna Cum Laude, in 2000; and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from the College of Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati, OH, Magna Cum Laude in 1992. Joell Angel-Chumbley has been active in the professional art and design community since the early 1990’s. Her work spans the disciplines of visual art, print and environmental graphic design and public art.
