Jane Davis Doggett is one of the pioneering women artists to have trained at the Yale School of Art and Architecture during its modernist heyday. As an early student of Josef Albers, she took his famed Interaction of Color course and absorbed Albers’ inspired principles of color perception while establishing her own strong artistic identity. Jane also studied with Louis Kahn and Alvin Eisenman, whose brilliant teachings in the fields of architecture and graphic design further led her on from Yale to become one of America’s leading graphic designers.
