Bryan Stevenson, EJI

Bryan Stevenson is the founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, a human rights organization in Montgomery, Alabama. Under his leadership, EJI has won major legal challenges eliminating excessive and unfair sentencing, exonerating innocent death row prisoners, confronting abuse of the incarcerated and the mentally ill, and aiding children prosecuted as adults.

The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center launched their ground-breaking integrated wayfinding system in 2004 with the help of fd2s, inc. and have funded an active, respected Graphics and Wayfinding Group within their organization that has maintained and enhanced the system (with the help of user research and prototyping) over the last 10 years as facilities doubled to 18 million square feet. Today they are piloting indoor location technology—another big leap in usefulness for patients and visitors. They have worked and consulted with SEGD members for years.

Arts for Transit

1997 Insight Award Honoree

In conjunction with a massive rehabilitation program launched in the 1980's, MTA Arts for Transit was created to oversee the selection of artists and installation of permanent artworks in subway and commuter rail stations. The program encompasses Music Under New York, a Transit Poster Program, and the Lightbox Project, a series of photography exhibits.
