The Riverdale Country School is currently building a new home for its third, fourth and fifth graders. Designed by Architecture Research Office (ARO), the completed halls and classrooms (and floors) will feature graphic interventions designed by Open, developed specifically to prompt learning and inspire curiosity among its youngest audience yet. While construction happens over the next school year, though, the students needed a place to learn—and call their own.
It’s no secret that tests and textbooks might not be the best way to teach a class of energetic students. Educators are on the hunt for a better way, including the team at the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI). Funded by a grant from the
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Local Projects partnered with NYSCI to get science and math out of the classroom and empower students to take learning into their own hands.
Music-loving members of Korea’s largest credit card company, Hyundai Card, have a new venue to call their own. In September 2015, the Adult Education Center and the Municipal Library of the City of Bonn, Germany, moved into a new common home, the House of Education (Haus der Bildung).
A new modern entrance building was added to the existing former administration building to provide barrier-free access to the House of Education and to accommodate additional functions and services such as an event hall.
