Expanding on the success of its initial implementation of real-time, passenger information displays, Port Authority of Allegheny (Pittsburgh, Penn.), the second largest transit agency in Pennsylvania, awarded Connectpoint Inc. an additional contract to continue their partnership in the rail and bus stop improvement program. The newly ordered Connectpoint E Ink, Digital Bus Stop displays and Interactive Kiosks will ensure the continued comfort and ease-of-use for Port Authority’s riders.

DAZZLE began as a regular public art commission through a competitive process in 2015 and evolved into a research project for the adaption of e-paper technology as an innovative dynamic material for exterior use on an architectural scale.
The resulting solar-powered 1,600-foot long artwork by Ueberall International facing the Pacific Highway comprises 2,100 custom developed e-paper panels that display animations remotely controlled via a wireless network.
For the new DAZZLE Project Nik Hafermaas and E-Ink developed a completely new module that can be used in any project. There were a number of real breakthroughs achieved. The panels are wireless, use solar power and can be configured into any format.
