Read Time: 4 minutes
In 1994, Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry opened “Take Flight,” one of their most popular exhibits featuring the fuselage of a retired Boeing 727 passenger plane. Today, more than 25 years later, Studio Matthews (exhibit designers) and Belle & Wissell (media experience designers) have redesigned the exhibit’s displays while updating the story of commercial aviation for 21st century visitors.

Understory at Amazon Spheres

The Spheres is the latest addition to Amazon’s downtown Seattle headquarters, and offers employees a work environment shared with over 40,000 plants, bringing them closer to nature as they work.

To explain this groundbreaking new building, Amazon established a free, public visitor center at The Spheres, called Understory. The name refers to the lush habitat between the rainforest floor and canopy and provides a fully immersive, 360-degree experience where visitors can get up close and personal with the science, engineering and plants behind The Spheres.

Seattle Skies

Skypad Interactive Wall, Seattle Space Needle

As if you needed another reason to head for Seattle, there’s the famous Space Needle, hip since 1962 when it was built for the World’s Fair. Now there’s a brand new way to experience the amazing views. Skypad™, designed by Belle & Wissell, is an award-winning interactive experience that invites guests to browse photo archives, sign into a 3D guestbook, and make their own wonderful (but possibly vertigo-inducing) memories.
