Comcast Center Digital Experience

Where [Digital] Worlds Collide

The Comcast Experience combines urban planning, environmental design, and public art to create a lively new gathering spot in downtown Philadelphia.

The new Robert A.M. Stern-designed Comcast Center tops off the Philadelphia skyline at 975 feet. And it breaks new ground on the ground floor as well, with an 85-ft.- by 25-ft. high-resolution video wall that turns a public transportation hub into a gigantic work of public art.

Barco

Barco (Rancho Cordova, Calif.) provided its RLM-W6 DLP projectors for the interactive art/architecture exhibit RealTime UnReal, which premieres at the Museum of Contemporary Art Montreal this month. Created by the international art collective Workspace Unlimited, the exhibit merges visitors' experience of virtual and physical space, creating multi-perspective "hybrid spaces" where the real and the virtual interweave in a constant flux.

Dubai Mall Catwalk

Merit Award
Dubai Mall Catwalk, Emaar, Square Peg Design

The Dubai Mal is the new “world’s largest mall” in Dubai. The 12 million-sq.-ft. mall is located directly at the base of the Burj Dubai, which will be the world’s tallest tower when it opens in late 2009.

Fashion Avenue is the mall’s high-end fashion district and the atrium where it is located is a major intersection where fashion shows and multimedia events take center stage. The fashion catwalk literally rises out of the floor of the atrium.
