Anne Burdick

Anne Burdick is the Chair of Media Design Practices (MDP), a graduate program at Art Center College of Design focused on designing for the future of information and communication technologies. To address the global and social dimensions of this work, the MDP recently established two tracks. In the Field track, students work on social issues in a real-world context—the first cohort just returned from working at UNICEF’s Innovation Lab in Kampala, Uganda.

One Day Poem Pavilion

The One-Day Poem Pavilion is a site-specific installation that harnesses the rotation of the earth to create "shadow poems" projected through hundreds of perforations in the dome-shaped shelter.

Poetry in Motion

A “slow media” installation allows visitors to interact with light, shadow, words, and the pull of the earth.

Time is an artificial construct, created by humans to meet our needs. Consumed as we are with how quickly it passes—and despite our determination to make it just another commodity—time defies our efforts to control it.
