2020 Academic Summit

Each year, SEGD holds the Academic Summit as a forum for trends in design education research, projects and curriculum innovation, the 2020 SEGD Academic Summit will be held on virtually June 11 and 12. Presenters are chosen in a peer-review process by the Academic Steering Committee of SEGD of papers submitted from educators and practitioners.

Christina Lyons

Christina Lyons is a member of the 2020 SEGD Board and has served on the SEGD Board since 2016, representing education. She is Professor and Chairperson of Graduate Exhibition & Experience Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology/SUNY in New York.

Previously, Christina was the Director of the Graphics Department at Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership, working on projects such as the Muzeiko: Children’s Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Angela Iarocci

Professor, York University/Sheridan College Program in Design

Angela Iarocci is a Professor and Coordinator at Sheridan College in the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design with academic specializations in information design, EGD and sustainable design. Her research investigations are concentrated in experiential design, information visualization, mapping, installations and collaborative practice. She is also a member of the SEGD Academic Task Force.

Tim McNeil

Tim McNeil is a principal with Muniz/McNeil, a multi-disciplinary design and research practice in Los Angeles. Recent projects include the exhibition Home Lands: How Women Made the West at the Autry National Center, and augmented learning environments for the Huntington Library and Gardens in Los Angeles. Tim McNeil has more than 20 years of professional design experience and was previously a senior designer at the J. Paul Getty Museum, developing more than 70 exhibition, signage and interpretive environments.
