From Models to Install

Our impetus for EGD in the classroom is the alchemy of bringing together projects with social purpose, meaningful narrative, and collaboration. But the focus of From Models to Install is to present a specific course of action that relies on the use of systems: grid and hierarchical structures borrowed from typographic layouts for the exhibition models and fabrication frameworks for the installations.

If you are a design academic, student, researcher and/or practitioner of the EGD field, the 2019 SEGD Academic Summit is the prequel you won't want miss!

Situated the day before the 2019 SEGD Conference Experience in Austin, the Academic Summit is a forum for trends in design education research, projects and curriculum innovation. Presenters are chosen by the Academic Steering Committee of SEGD in a peer-review process of papers submitted by educators and practitioners.
 

What to Expect

Christina Lyons

Christina Lyons is a member of the 2020 SEGD Board and has served on the SEGD Board since 2016, representing education. She is Professor and Chairperson of Graduate Exhibition & Experience Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology/SUNY in New York.

Previously, Christina was the Director of the Graphics Department at Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership, working on projects such as the Muzeiko: Children’s Museum in Sofia, Bulgaria.
